Hello Fruit Face!

During the 2nd
9 weeks, the 6th graders studied the Italian renaissance artist, Guiseppe Arcimboldo.

Arcimboldo was an Italian painter best known for creating imaginative portrait heads made entirely of objects such as fruits and vegetables.

He painted these objects on the canvas arranged in such a way that the whole collection of objects formed a recognizable likeness of the person he was attempting to paint.

The sixth graders created their own "fruit face" using all fruits and vegetables.

These portraits were created using colored pencil, marker, and watercolor paints.

When you use more than one type of art supply, it is called "mixed media."
