Drum roll, please...

...or an acoustic strum or a bass riff, please...

During the 2nd 9 weeks, the sixth graders created these amazing papier mache instruments...

What you see here is totally hand constructed from cardboard, lots and lots of masking tape, newspaper, paste, paint, hot glue, string, fabric, and wood.

During class we studied the origins and production of acoustic guitars, electric guitars, drums, maracas, and bongos.

Then the sixth graders designed their own, getting inspiration from photographs and from their own musical experiences.

Some students created realistic likenesses, and others became a bit more abstract.
